More than 50% of cervical cancer cases in the developing world are in the Asian-Pacific region, with a quarter in India. Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is identified as the primary cause of cervical cancer and other genital cancers. Fortunately, timely screening and vaccination, as recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO), offer prevention pathways including elimination of cervical cancer.
